Las Vegas Weather In November: What It’s Really Like
Heading to Las Vegas in November and wondering if you’re going to roast, freeze, or somehow both in the same day? Been there. You’re in the right spot.
I’ve been to Vegas more times than I can count, and one of the biggest rookie mistakes I ever made was assuming it was always hot because… desert.
Yeah, no.
The first time we went in November, I stepped outside and instantly regretted every outfit I packed. I swore I’d never let anyone else get fooled by that again.
So here is everything you need to know about Las Vegas weather in November, plus what to wear, what to pack, and some fun things to do while you’re there.
November Temperatures In Las Vegas
A lot of people think Vegas = hot every second of the year. That is very much not the case.
In November, the average highs land somewhere between 61°F and 74°F. Most days feel pretty perfect during the afternoon, but once the sun goes down, it cools down fast.
It’s totally normal for the desert to go from the high 70s during the day to the 20s at night. That swing is no joke.

As you can see in that graph, the beginning of the month is usually warmer than the end. November first averages around 74°F, and by the time you hit November thirtieth, the average high drops to about 61°F.
For fun (and to show how wild the desert can be):
- Record high: 87°F
- Record low: 21°F
That’s a massive gap, which is why layering is seriously your best friend.
Sunshine, Wind, and Rain
If you’re worried about rain, don’t be. November only averages 0.02 inches of rain. That’s basically nothing.
You’ll have around ten hours of daylight in November, and most of the month is sunny.
The wind can surprise you, though. Even if the temperature doesn’t look bad on paper, a gusty day can make it feel colder than you’d expect.
A lightweight jacket (or even a medium one depending on your cold tolerance) will make your life a lot easier.
What To Pack For Las Vegas In November

This is honestly the most important section because your comfort totally depends on what you put in your suitcase.
Here’s what I personally pack for Vegas in November:
Daytime Clothes
Daytime is usually comfortable, especially if the sun is out. I stick to things like:
- Jeans or comfortable pants
- T shirts or long sleeve shirts
- Sneakers or comfy walking shoes
You’ll be walking a lot, so skip anything that rubs, pinches, or looks cute but tortures your feet.
Nighttime Clothes
Nights get cold. If you’re planning to walk between casinos or grab food off the Strip, you’ll want warmer pieces, like:
- A sweater
- A medium jacket
- Closed toe shoes
- Layers you can take off indoors
Trust me, you don’t want to be shivering while waiting for the Bellagio fountains to start.
Dressy Outfits
Vegas is fun at night, and getting dressed up is part of the experience. I pack one or two dressier outfits with a layer I can throw on top while walking outside.
If you pack something sleeveless, just be sure you have a jacket ready the second you step outdoors.
Accessories
- Chapstick (Vegas is dry)
- Sunglasses
- A hat
- A small crossbody bag
Should You Pack A Swimsuit?
Here’s the honest truth: probably not.
Most Vegas pools and pool parties close for the season by the end of October. But a few hotels do tend to keep their pools open and heated through the winter, including:
But even then, that water may be warm while the air is not.
Pool bars and restaurants often switch to reduced hours or shut down completely. You might end up getting into the pool but sprinting back to your towel because the breeze is freezing.
If you really want to swim, double check with your hotel that their pool is open and bring a swimsuit. If not, save the luggage space.
Things To Do In Las Vegas In November
The weather is actually perfect for exploring, so November ends up being one of my favorite times to visit.
Here are some things I always recommend:
Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon is gorgeous in November because you’re not melting. You can explore scenic overlooks, hike a little, take photos, and actually enjoy being outside. The Calico Hills look even more colorful when the sun is lower in the sky.
Shows
Vegas has so many amazing shows, and November is a great time to see one. My husband and I loved David Copperfield at MGM Grand. His illusions and storytelling kept us entertained the whole time.
And of course, you have the Cirque du Soleil shows:
- Mad Apple at New York New York
- KÀ at MGM Grand
- Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay
- Mystère at Treasure Island
- “O” at Bellagio
They’re all incredible, and each one has a totally different vibe.
Helicopter Tours, Hoover Dam Tours, and ATVs
If you want something a little more adventurous, this is where Vegas really shines.
You can:
- Take a helicopter ride over the Strip or the Grand Canyon
- Ride ATVs through the Mojave Desert
- Visit the Hoover Dam
- Try all kinds of extreme activities
The cooler November weather makes every one of these so much more enjoyable.
And if you’re looking for budget friendly ideas, there are tons of free things to do in Vegas too.
No matter what you choose to do in Las Vegas in November, you are sure to have a good time!
Final Thoughts
Las Vegas in November is honestly one of the best times to go. The weather is comfortable, the crowds aren’t as wild as summer, and you can explore without overheating.
Just pack layers, bring a jacket, and check the forecast right before you leave. And if you want that quiet pool moment… check ahead with your hotel first.
