When hubby and I go to Vegas we know we have to see some of their world famous shows. There’s so many to choose from, and we’ve seen a ton of them at this point!

We have seen quite a few Cirque du Soleil shows together over the years in Boston, Orlando, and Las Vegas, and there’s good reason we keep going back. Cirque du Soleil as a whole is an artistic masterpiece, and it keeps you entertained until the very end.

There is something simply magical about the way these performers have honed their crafts. You can tell just how dedicated each and every one of them are to perfecting their roles, and the trust and faith they put in each other is humbling to watch.

They literally put their lives in each other’s hands over and over again!

What is Cirque du Soleil?

Ok, so what exactly is Cirque du Soleil? Well, it’s french for “Circus of the Sun”, and in essence it’s a hybrid show combining incredible acrobatics with jaw-dropping feats of strength and balance, along with incredible dances and the most creative costumes imaginable.

There’s generally an overlying theme for each show, but it’s subject to interpretation, as art typically is. Cirque du Soleil stretches imagination and creativity, and truly captures the heart of all who watch these shows.

What is Mystere?

Mystere is Cirque du Soleil’s first permanent show, which can be found in Las Vegas, Nevada, first premiering Christmas of 1993. The theater it’s performed in was custom-built to accommodate all the special intricacies and complexities of the show.

There’s a definite theme of life in Mystere. We are first introduced to a baby, who then discovers the world and numerous imaginative creatures along the way.

I won’t give everything away, but I will tell you that the entire show will have you on the edge of your seat. There are so many moments where your jaw will be on the floor, and just as many moments where you’ll be falling off your seat laughing. Cirque du Soleil does a great job of sprinkling comedic relief into their shows.

If I had to choose, I think my personal favorite act was these two women in the picture below. Their strength and talent was mind-blowing.

Is Cirque du Soleil Mystere Worth It?

Our answer to this is a resounding YES! Cirque du Soleil never puts on a bad show, and Mystere is no exception. You will not regret seeing Cirque du Soleil Mystere in Las Vegas. Or any Cirque du Soleil show for that matter!

We coupled a Cirque du Soleil show on one day with an incredible helicopter tour the next day for a truly unforgettable Vegas trip, and strongly recommend you do the same! You could even pair it with a Las Vegas ATV tour, or a tour to the Hoover Dam instead and it would be an incredible adventure-filled experience!

Where To See Cirque du Soleil?

You can see Cirque du Soleil Mystere on the Las Vegas Strip at the Mystere Theater inside the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. The address is 3300 Las Vegas Blvd.

The Mystere Theater was specially constructed for the sole purpose of hosting the Mystere shows. The stage is actually constructed with rubber layers to help increase the performers’ bouncing. There are movable sections, and parts that just disappear completely to accommodate larger aspects of the show.

Where to Sit When Seeing Cirque du Soleil Mystere?

First let’s say that there is not a bad seat in the house. No matter where you sit, you will have a direct view of the show.

The theater seats about 1,500 people, and generally speaking, the best seats are front and center in section 103. We sat in section 104 and our seats were also fantastic.

The design of the theater ensures that every seat is a good seat, however, so even if the front sections are filled, you will still be sure to see an amazing show.

How Long Is The Show?

No matter which day or time you choose to see Cirque du Soleil Mystere, the show runs for approximately 90 minutes, with no intermissions.

What To Wear To Cirque du Soleil Mystere?

Although there is no dress code for Mystere, remember you are in Las Vegas! You could go as basic as jeans and a tshirt, or as glamorous as black tie apparel. We personally chose to go along the more casual route, with jeans and a button down, and a dress with boots.

What About Food and Drinks?

You can purchase popcorn, candy, and other snacks inside the theater, along with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

I had a drink from the casino in my hand when we went into the theater and no one said anything about that either. Whether it’s allowed or simply went unnoticed, I’m not positive.

Is There Cirque du Soleil Mystere Merchandise?

Just outside the Mystere theater is a gift shop with all kinds of Cirque du Soleil Mystere goodies available for purchase. There’s a selection of apparel, jewelry, programs, DVDs, and various other souvenirs. It’s definitely worth taking a look around!
