Why We Always See Cirque Du Soleil Shows
When hubby and I go to Vegas we know we have to see some of their world famous shows. There’s so many to choose from, and we’ve seen a ton of them at this point!
We have seen quite a few Cirque du Soleil shows together over the years in Boston, Orlando, and Las Vegas, and there’s good reason we keep going back. Cirque du Soleil as a whole is an artistic masterpiece and it keeps you entertained until the very end.
You can tell just how dedicated each and every one of the performers are to perfecting their roles, and the trust and faith they put in each other is humbling to watch. A lot of the acts depend on complete trust between the performers, and you really feel that when you are watching them fly through the air and catch each other over and over again.
They literally put their lives in each other’s hands over and over again!

What is Cirque du Soleil?
Cirque du Soleil means Circus of the Sun in French. But it is not your typical circus with animals and ringmasters. It is more like a mix of acrobatics, dance, comedy, live music, and very creative storytelling.
Each show has its own theme and vibe, but they are all designed to feel a little dreamy and a little weird in a good way. You don’t really need to understand the story to enjoy it. You can just sit back and take in the performances.
The shows also never feel boring or repetitive. Every show is different, but they all have that same mix of insane talent, creative costumes, live music, and moments that make you sit there thinking “how is that even possible”.
What is Mystere?
Mystere was the very first permanent Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas, and it’s been running since 1993. The theater was custom built just for this show, and you can tell. The stage has:
- Surprise entrances that come out of nowhere
- Springy flooring for extra bounce
- Trap doors and moving sections
The theme of Mystere is centered around life and curiosity. The show starts with a baby discovering the world, and from there it turns into a series of wild and colorful acts with all kinds of strange and funny characters.

I won’t give everything away, but I will tell you that the entire show will have you on the edge of your seat. There are moments where your jaw will be on the floor, and just as many moments where you’ll be falling off your seat laughing.
Cirque du Soleil does a great job of sprinkling comedic relief into their shows. There’s a great mix of serious talent and silly humor, which keeps it from ever feeling too intense or too slow.
My Personal Experience Seeing Cirque du Soleil Mystere
My husband and I both absolutely loved this show from start to finish. You will not regret seeing Cirque du Soleil Mystere in Las Vegas.
You can tell every single person on that stage has worked insanely hard to perfect what they do, and it really shows.
If I had to pick a favorite act, it was the two women who perform together using pure strength and balance. Watching them was honestly unreal.

Where Is Mystere Performed?
You can see Cirque du Soleil Mystere on the Las Vegas Strip at the Mystere Theater inside the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. The address is 3300 Las Vegas Blvd.
The theater is easy to get to if you are already on the Strip, and Treasure Island is also connected to other nearby hotels, which makes getting there even easier.
How Long Is the Show?
Mystere runs about 90 minutes and there is no intermission.
Personally, I think that is the perfect length. It never drags, and you are not stuck waiting in line for the bathroom halfway through.
Where to Sit At Cirque du Soleil Mystere

First let me say that there is not a bad seat in the house. No matter where you sit, you will have a direct view of the show.
The Mystere Theater seats about 1,500 people, and it’s designed so that everyone has a good view of the stage. Even seats farther back still feel close to the action.
That said, if you want to be more specific:
- Front and center sections (like section 103) are usually considered the best
- We sat in section 104 and thought our seats were fantastic
Because the stage has so much movement and action all over, you are not stuck staring at one small area the whole time.
How Much Do Mystere Tickets Usually Cost?
Ticket prices can change depending on:
- Day of the week
- Time of year
- Where you sit
But in general, expect tickets to start around $70 to $90 and go up from there for better seats.
Prices can definitely go up during busy travel seasons, weekends, and holidays, so booking ahead is usually a good idea if you have a specific date in mind.
You can check current prices and available seats for Mystere here.
When Should You Buy Tickets?
If you are visiting during a busy time, I would not wait until the last minute.
Mystere is popular, especially with first time Vegas visitors, and some show times do sell out. Buying tickets ahead of time also lets you pick better seats instead of just grabbing whatever is left.
If you are more flexible and traveling during slower seasons, you might find same day tickets, but personally I like knowing our plans are set well in advance.
What To Wear To Cirque du Soleil Mystere?
There is no dress code at all.
You will see people wearing:
- Jeans and T shirts
- Dresses and heels
- Everything in between
It’s Vegas, so anything goes. We went casual, and it felt totally fine.
My advice is just to wear something comfortable enough to sit in for 90 minutes and walk around the casino before or after the show.

What About Food and Drinks?
You can purchase popcorn, candy, and other snacks inside the theater, along with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
I had a drink from the casino in my hand when we went into the theater and no one said anything. I am not 100% sure if that is officially allowed or if I just got lucky, but either way, you won’t go thirsty during the show.
Is Mystere Good for Kids?
Yes, Mystere is one of the more family friendly shows in Las Vegas.
There is no bad language, no adult themes, and lots of silly moments that kids would enjoy.
That said, it is still 90 minutes long, so younger kids who have trouble sitting still might struggle a bit. But overall, this is one of the better Cirque shows if you are traveling with kids or teens.
How Does Mystere Compare to Other Cirque du Soleil Shows in Vegas?
There are several Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas, and they all have different vibes.
Here are the current ones:
- Mad Apple at New York New York
- KÀ at MGM Grand
- Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay
- “O” at Bellagio
- Mystere at Treasure Island
Mystere feels like the most classic Cirque style. It’s a little more playful and silly than some of the others. And it seems to be less focused on story and more focused on the pure performance aspect.
If you want something dramatic and intense, KÀ might be more your style.
If you want water and crazy stage effects, “O” is incredible.
If you want fun, colorful, and nonstop action, Mystere is a great pick.
Is There Cirque du Soleil Mystere Merchandise?
Yes of course! Just outside the Mystere theater is a gift shop with all kinds of Cirque du Soleil Mystere goodies available for purchase.
There’s a selection of apparel, jewelry, programs, DVDs, and various other souvenirs. It’s definitely worth taking a look around!
Final Thoughts: Would I See Mystere Again?
Yes, without hesitation.
Even though we have seen a lot of Cirque du Soleil shows, Mystere still stands out as one of the most fun and entertaining. It is easy to follow, packed with talent, and just a really good time.
If you are on the fence, I really do not think you will regret going.
